Before you bid
HiBid is an online auction source. A few things resellers get caught by with this kind of source:
- A much bigger pool of bidders. You’re bidding against the whole platform’s audience, not just a room, which can push prices past what a local sale would bring.
- Higher buyer’s premiums. 15 to 20 percent or more is common online, on top of the bid itself.
- Local pickup. A great deal three hours away isn’t a deal if pickup means a six-hour round trip.
Every source sets its own fees, registration and pickup rules, so read them on HiBid’s own site before you bid.
